With the abolishment of the South-West Finland Anti-Aircraft Regiment some personnel and equipment were transferred from Turku to Parola. A unit, the Helsinki Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion, giving anti-aircraft training was established in the Armoured Brigade on January 1, 2003.
The Helsinki Anti-Aircraft Battalion cherishes the heritage of south-western anti-aircraft units, which began on February 1, 1937 and the heritage of armoured anti-aircraft units, which began in 1942. The tradition day is on November 30, which is the anniversary of the Finnish anti-aircraft troops. The tradition march "Nuijamiesten marssi" - referring to the Cudgel War, the Peasant Revolt of 1596-97 - is composed by Toivo Kuula.
The Helsinki Anti-Aircraft Battalion is a new unit, but an important part of the Armoured Brigade with striking power.
