Häme Armour Battalion
By combining the Häme Jaeger Battalion and the Tank Battalion, the Häme Armour Battalion was formed in 2003. This unit specialises in the training of wartime armoured troops. In five different basic units of the battalion the training is given to those ground force formations with the biggest striking power - in other words, the most central units from the point of view of National Defence.
The most demanding challenge for the Häme Armour Battalion is command and control of the modern high tempo tank battle. The training on and the maintenance of the versatile technical equipment demands professionalism, determination and a sense of responsibility - the culture of tank expertise based on the experience decades old.
